Yasmine joined Silicon Badia as an Associate and is focused on managing, supporting and growing Silicon Badia’s portfolio companies in the Middle East.
Yasmine graduated from McGill University with a degree in International Development Studies and started her career with the Business Development Centre, a developmental organisation committed to fostering economic growth in Jordan and the Middle East, where she was directly responsible for communicating with funders and international partners as well as project managing several entrepreneurship training programs. In 2015, Yasmine joined USAID LENS as an Economic Specialist and spent several years with the organisation focusing on funding, supporting and training micro-entrepreneurs across Jordan. Whilst at USAID, Yasmine also piloted an experiential tourism initiative and led the establishment of the Jordan Mountaineering Association, both with the support of the Jordanian Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities. In 2018, Yasmine received her MBA from IE University in Spain. Whilst at IE, Yasmine was a NextGen Consulting Fellow with Emzingo’s Social Impact Lab in South Africa, a recipient of the IE Foundation Women Scholarship and an Entrepreneur at Venture Lab, a startup accelerator at the institution.
Yasmine also founded nonprofit initiative Ta3zeeleh in 2013, which supports education and entrepreneurship in poverty-stricken and marginalised areas in Jordan by providing university scholarships and micro-loans to women and entrepreneurs.
